This species is difficult to distinguish from Watsonalla binaria.  W. uncinula is found in the south part of Europe. W. binaria is found in most of Europe.  There is also a difference in the black at the top of the forewing. W. uncinula is rather small.  W. binaria has also a more angled postmedian line.
