Carpocoris purpureipennis

There are a few similar species. C. pudicus, C. mediterraneus, C. fuscipinus and C. melanocerus. Also a few juveniles are very similar.

This species is difficult to distinguish from C. pudicus.

The lateral edges of the scutellum are not narrowed in the middle and they look almost straight.

C. purpureipennis has a pointed pronotum.
