There are a few similar species in Europe.

Emblethis denticollis : Antenna segment 1 is more short and wide, almost spherical.

Hind tarsus, segment 1 is 1,5 x the length of segments 2 and 3 together.

Thorn at the bottom of the side edges of the pronotum, near the front corners, but this can sometimes be missing.
