Body length : 7,5-8,5mm.
This species is difficult to distinguish from other species of this genus.
The fully-winged forms of the other species are very similar. N. ferus is always fully-winged.
The density of the hairs on the forewings and the apex of the corium is an important distinguishing factor.
On grasses and the herb layer.
Zoophagous : cicadas, aphids, bugs, caterpillars and beetles.
