Tenthredo arcuata

Photo   |   Animalia / Arthropoda / Insecta / Hymenoptera / Symphyta / Tenthredinidae / Tenthredininae / Tenthredinini

These species are usually classified in the Tenthredo arcuata group.
There are some similar species that are very difficult to identify.

Further examination of the genitalia is required for the male species.

Females can be identified by photo but it remains difficult.

An important morphological feature is the shape of the hypopyge.

Also good photos of scalpus, tibia 1 (inside) and femur 3 are important for identification.
